OUR MANIFESTO FOR UNBOUNDED MATHEMATICS

By the minds of UnboundedFigures

Mathematics has always been a tool of wonder, insight, and truth. But for too long, its gates have been guarded—accessible only to those with the right titles, affiliations, or credentials.

It has been treated as the private playground of institutions. A club for the credentialed. A gated castle where only those with perfect rigor and polished citations are allowed to speak.

But mathematics is a human pursuit. And it's time we reclaimed it.

💡 What We Believe

  • Anyone can be a mathematician. No degrees required. No affiliations necessary. Insight and curiosity are enough.
  • Mathematics belongs to everyone. From chalkboard dreamers to late-night problem-solvers, if you’re thinking mathematically, you're part of this movement.
  • Creativity matters just as much as proof. We welcome wild ideas, strange conjectures, and so-called “pseudo-math.” We are not here to judge what is “proper.” We are here to explore what is possible.
  • Math is a social effort. It's born in conversations, debates, sketches, tangents, accidents. Collaboration and freedom fuel discovery—not ivory towers and rejection letters.

🔓 What We’re Reclaiming

We are building a space where:

  • You can post unfiltered ideas—even if they’re unproven, unconventional, or incomplete
  • You can write about math in your own voice, not in the language of academic gatekeepers
  • You can dare to be wrong, bold, abstract, imaginative—without fear of condescension
  • You can question the boundaries of what math even is

We will not shun your work because it's “not rigorous enough.”
We will not mock your intuition.
We will not hide your insights behind peer review paywalls.

If your mind is working in mathematical ways—you're one of us.

🛠 What You Can Do Here

  • Post your ideas, theories, open questions and philosophical rants.
  • Upload PDFs, LaTeX, scanned notebooks—whatever form your math takes
  • Join group hubs tackling famous problems (including the Millennium Problems)
  • Start or join collaborative writing teams in efforts to write real math papers.
  • Vote for “Work of the Month”
  • Celebrate others. Respect everyone.
  • Build community, not competition

🤖 On AI and Human Thought

We believe real mathematical creativity comes from people.

But we also know that many brilliant thinkers struggle to express their ideas clearly.
That’s why we welcome the honest and transparent use of AI tools to help organize, typeset, or clarify human insight.

What we don’t accept is:

  • Copy-pasted AI solutions without thought
  • Faking expertise using machines

AI can be a bridge, but the ideas must still be yours.
All we ask for is honesty, not perfection.

✊ Our Pledge

We will create a judgment-free environment where:

  • Creativity is defended
  • Whacky ideas are welcomed
  • “Pseudo” work is not a slur, but a starting point
  • Math is not defined by status, title, or format—but by spirit

We are the messy, the curious, the unorthodox.
We are the dreamers who never got invited to the chalkboard.
Now we’ve built our own.

We are the Unbounded Figures
And we’re just getting started.

Welcome to the revolution. This is Unbounded Mathematics.
